Rebecca Leon, LMHC

  • Rebecca founded Rebecca Leon Mental Health Counseling with the goal of creating a space for all people to feel truly seen, heard, and valued. As a Muslim American therapist, Rebecca saw that many traditional therapeutic spaces overlooked the impact of culture, identity, and systemic injustice. Rebecca Leon Mental Health Counseling was born from the belief that healing is both personal and political and that every person deserves the chance to explore their story with depth, dignity, and care.

Rebecca believes that the foundation of therapy is built on having a safe and supportive space where all people are accepted for exactly who they are. Coming from a diverse and multicultural family with roots in different cultures, she believes strongly in the importance of cultural humility, social justice, and liberation-oriented practice. Her main goal in therapy is to support her clients through empathy and unconditional positive regard.

Rebecca received her MA in Counseling for Mental Health and wellness from New York University and has worked in both agency and private practice settings over the last several years. She has experience working with adolescents, adults, and couples of various racial and ethnic backgrounds, religions, and disability statuses. Her experience working with diverse populations has taught her that there is no "one size fits all" approach, which is why her style is tailored to each client's individual needs.
